The DOJ, presumably the office of the Assistant to the AG for the Tax Division, Eileen O’Connor, indicted the Mowers for tax evasion, but they limited the scope of the prosecution to only Malaysia and Australia and to only $1M of tax evasion. Agent Elder was told that the cost of pursuing an investigation in all the countries was prohibitive.
